WHY WE INT.?
An enormous gap between Japanese and foreign students as well as men and women, which bars diverse women from pursuing their ambitions.
Lack of a safe space where women can engage with socio-political issues with gendered implications.
Absence of active efforts in tackling specific challenges that women face throughout their academic lives and future careers.
Lack of an inclusive and empowering women’s organization or network in Japan
LOGO CONCEPT
Our logo was designed by aspiring artist Chihiro Matsuda.
She was inspired by the women in Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix. Liberty is represented through the woman holding the French flag. She created the design in the hopes that more women in Japan will become empowered and lead the society today - just like the woman pictured in the painting.
CHIHIRO MATSUDA I 松田 千広
Born in 1992, Chihiro Matsuda is a promotion planner / designer based in Tokyo. After growing up as a third culture kid in Frankfurt, Germany, she entered International Christian University and studied Cultural Studies. She currently works for an advertising production company, engaged in creating promotion strategies and ideas for various clients.
